Our Dedicated Hygiene Team – Preventative Hygiene Visits in Joondalup

At Dental Reflections in Joondalup we believe that good dental hygiene is key to ensuring healthy teeth and gums. Home care is extremely important as are regular six monthly maintenance visits with one of our friendly hygiene team, who will remove deposits of bacteria that are not able to be removed by simple brushing and flossing alone.

Bacteria or plaque left behind on teeth can cause tooth decay or form hard deposits called calculus which in time can lead to loss of bone around teeth and ultimately tooth loss. There is also a growing body of evidence suggesting that an unhealthy mouth can have detrimental effects on other organs including the heart, brain and kidneys.

Following your preventive hygiene visit, should any dental issues be detected which require treatment your dentist will discuss these with the aid of intra-oral photographs taken at the time of your visit. We will then present options, discuss pros and cons and together with you formulate a treatment plan tailored to your needs and wants.

At Dental Reflections we are very much a preventive driven practice. As such our aim is to reduce the need for complex treatments through education, instruction in good oral hygiene and ensuring that regular preventive maintenance is adhered to. We do this by ensuring that all of our patients are reserved a forward booking with our hygiene team and that they leave with a complimentary hygiene pack to see them through between visits.
